Sid Chand Lall writes for Citywire about opportunity in smaller companies
Marlborough Multi Cap Income Manager Sid Chand Lall has written an article for Citywire highlighting why he believes the long-term opportunity in UK smaller companies is more important for investors than the general election.
Sid argues that the outcome of the vote on 4th July may not affect markets as dramatically as many people appear to suppose.
He highlights historical evidence from the UK stretching back more than four decades that shows equity markets have been relatively unaffected by election results.
Meanwhile, in the US, research shows stock markets have performed well under presidents from both the Democratic and Republican parties, Sid points out.
More important for investors, he argues, is the potential for innovative and agile smaller companies to outperform their larger counterparts over the long term.
